My Trip to Springfield in 2004

When Mom was looking on the internet for fun things to do in Springfield, she found the neatest place. It's a stuffed animal factory!  You get to make your own stuffed animal.  I had so much fun there. I wanna' go back and make a whole bunch more animals.

(Click on any picture to see it full sized in a new window. Close the new window to return to this page.)

The first thing we had to do was to pick out our favorite animal skin to stuff.  It was hard to decide. I chose a yellow striped kitty and Mom chose a little white bear. Then we had to decide what color eyes our animal would have.

I gave my kitty sparkly green eyes.  I put blue eyes in Mom's bear for her.

After we put in the eyes, we got to add some Wishes and Dreams. Stuffed up inside our animals is a cloud filled with some real pretty glitter shaped like hearts, stars, and moons. We made a wish or a dream and then put it inside our animal. Our animals now hold our wishes and dreams for us.

The next step was to fill the stuffing machine. I had to put whole bunches of stuffing in the machine. Then the silly machine was asleep and we all had to holler real loud to get it to wake up and do it's work.

Once we got the silly machine awake, Sheryl (the lady who runs the factory), used the stuffing machine to fill our animals. I got to work the pump that made the machine work.

After our animals were all stuffed like we wanted them (I wanted mine all soft and cuddly), it was time to sew them up. Before we sewed them though, we added a little guardian angel who stays in our animal to look out for us and for our animals.  After they were all sewed up, they were almost done. Just a couple of more steps left. Here's a picture of me with my kitty after she got sewn up. She's not done yet, though.

The next step was to brush our animals real well and to give them a bath (with a great big vacuum).  If we did the bath right, it made our animals happy and the big flowers on top of the machine spun round and round. Then we got to choose a shirt for our animals, and choose two ribbons for them to wear. We also got to print out adoptions certificates or stories about our animals.

I named my kitty "MarthaCat" (can you guess why?)  Here is a picture of my kitty and the adoption certificate I got for her.

Mom named her bear "Snowball".  Here is a picture of Snowball and the story about how she was made.

Aunt Martha didn't make an animal, but she sure had fun playing with all the animals who live in the factory.
